Greg Kerr joins KCEN 6 Waco-Temple-Killeen

Greg Kerr announced he is returning to Texas television news at KCEN 6 Waco-Temple-Killeen, this time in the mornings alongside Lindsay Liepman.

“5am comes quickly, but I’m back at it!” Kerr announced on social media. “I’ve joined Lindsay Liepman and the KCEN morning team in the Waco/Temple market.”

Kerr also thanked his wife, Sheryl Kerr, for her support as he made what he described as a “major” life decision.

“Let’s win the mornings!” he added.

- Jasmin Caldwell joins KWTX 10
- Dan Joseph joins NewsChannel 10 KFDA Amarillo

The Central Texas Texas Today news comes less than three months after Kerr announced his retirement from NewsChannel 10 KFDA in Amarillo on July 2, 2026, following more than 35 years in television news and sports.

At the time, Kerr said he was stepping away from daily television news, but he wasn't leaving broadcasting completely. He launched Let’s Get Kerrific!, a part-time social media content-creation venture based in the Austin area, where he planned to draw on more than four decades of news and sports experience while connecting with audiences across digital platforms.

Apparently, retirement didn't last very long.

Kerr's return to television brings his career full circle in Texas. He joined KFDA in January 2022 and spent four and a half years as the station's primetime anchor, helping lead coverage of breaking news and severe weather while becoming active in the Texas Panhandle community.

During his time in Amarillo, Kerr participated in community initiatives including the Together We Can Food Drive and 24 Hours in the Canyon, and supported the Ronald McDonald House and other local causes.

Kerr's television career began in Texas in 1983 when he became a sports anchor at KLST-TV in San Angelo. A University of Central Oklahoma graduate with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, he moved to Austin's KTBC-TV the following year as a sports anchor.

He later spent nine years as Sports Director at KFDM-TV in Beaumont before moving to Springfield, Illinois, where he became Sports Director at WICS-TV. Kerr then joined KWTV-TV in Oklahoma City as a sports anchor before heading to WFMY-TV in Greensboro, North Carolina.

At WFMY, Kerr spent nearly eight years as Sports Director and helped oversee major sports programming and special broadcast projects.

Kerr returned to Texas in 2010, joining Fox Sports Southwest in Dallas as a news anchor. His work there included anchoring Dallas Stars Live, Dallas Stars Insider, Dallas Mavericks Live, San Antonio Spurs Live and High School Spotlight. He also wrote, edited, produced, and voiced segments for the Texas Rangers Magazine Show.

In 2012, Kerr returned to KTBC in Austin, where he anchored FOX 7 News in the Morning and Good Day Austin.

After nearly three decades in sports television, Kerr transitioned to news full-time. He joined KFDM/KBTV in Beaumont as a morning news anchor in 2013 before returning to West Texas, where he anchored KLST in San Angelo from 2020 to 2021.

Kerr joined KFDA in Amarillo in January 2022, closing out what appeared to be his television career as the station's evening anchor.

Throughout his career, Kerr has earned numerous honors, including two Lone Star Emmy Awards — one for sports and another for news.

Jay Wallis left WFAA 8 for TEGNA corporate

Jay Wallis left WFAA 8 Dallas-Fort Worth after more than six years in 2025 and was promoted to lead producer of Growth for TEGNA in April 2026.

"It’s a creative and collaborative opportunity to help lead a new corporate team focused on developing original digital content, supporting major coverage across the country, and finding new ways to grow audiences," Wallis posted.

Wallis most recently served as executive producer, digital video coordinator and multimedia journalist at WFAA from July 2023 to September 2025. In that role, he led the station's digital video initiatives, launched original programming for WFAA+, and was named WFAA's Innovator of the Year in 2024 for his work on digital transformation and audience growth. He also worked as a multimedia journalist, reporting on sports and general assignment stories, earning multiple honors from the National Press Photographers Association and a 2020 Lone Star Emmy nomination.

Following his time at WFAA, Wallis joined TEGNA's Growth team in September 2025 as a growth producer, developing platform-native content and audience growth strategies across the company's stations. He was promoted to lead producer, growth, in April 2026, where he oversees the creative development of original digital video franchises, long-form streaming content, and cross-platform storytelling initiatives across TEGNA's nationwide portfolio.

Before joining WFAA, Wallis spent three years as a multimedia journalist at KVUE in Austin, where he earned three consecutive Lone Star Emmy nominations and launched a podcast explaining the news production process.

Earlier in his career, Wallis worked as bureau chief at KYTX CBS19 in Tyler-Longview, where he anchored and produced the Sunday newscast while covering major news stories across East Texas. He also served as an editorial assistant for SLAM magazine, contributing to SLAMonline.com, SLAM Magazine, and SLAM Radio.

Wallis began his broadcasting career at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri, where he worked as a sports anchor, reporter, producer, and news reporter while attending the University of Missouri. During college, he also interned with Mizzou Athletics, the Frisco RoughRiders, and KBIA 91.3 FM.

He graduated from the University of Missouri in 2015 with a Bachelor of Journalism degree in Radio and Television News.

Deven Clarke leaves KPRC 2 Houston

Deven Clarke

Deven Clarke announced this afternoon that he is leaving KPRC 2 Houston.

"After five and a half incredible years at KPRC, my time is coming to an end. But what a ride it's been," Clarke said in a goodbye video (embedded below).  "It's not the awards or the accolades that I'll remember most. It's the emails, the conversations from you, the viewers telling me to keep fighting because I meant something to them. Some of those moments came when I quietly needed them most. What I'll take with me more than anything is knowing that together we were able to make a difference from the bottom of my heart. Houston, thank you."

In the video, Clarke notes that from ducking bullets to helping get innocent people out of jail, and even being unofficially dubbed the Superman of consumer advocacy, he did earn three Lone Star Emmy nominations.

Clarke joined the KPRC 2 Houston news team in 2021 after serving as the Crime and Justice Reporter at KSAT 12 in San Antonio.

His previous television stops include serving as a morning reporter at Fox 8 WVUE in New Orleans, a reporter at WHBF in Rock Island, Illinois, and an anchor at WJAC in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Clarke is a graduate of Howard University. Raised in a family of missionaries, he says his passion for helping others led him to journalism. While attending Howard, he was asked to fill in as a sports anchor for the university's newscast, which sparked his broadcasting career.

(Thanks, Taylor!)

Tiffany Liou leaves WFAA 8 for ABC7 San Francisco

Tiffany Liou signed off from WFAA 8 in Dallas-Fort Worth after more than eight years at the station.

- Erin Heft joins WFAA 8

"I love this team to my core," Liou posted.  "WFAA will always be a part of me."

Liou announced her departure from the Tegna-owned ABC affiliate, with her final day at WFAA on July 1, 2026. She is returning to the Bay Area to join ABC7 KGO-TV in San Francisco as the station's evening South Bay reporter.

Liou joined WFAA in April 2018 as a multi-skilled journalist and general assignment reporter. During her time in North Texas, she covered many of the region's biggest stories, including the Uvalde and Allen mass shootings, the Hill Country flooding, major severe weather events and countless breaking news stories. She also helped produce WFAA's first 30-minute Asian American and Pacific Islander community special, highlighting the AANHPI experience across North Texas.

Her reporting has been recognized with numerous honors, including multiple Lone Star Emmy Awards, NPPA awards, Texas Associated Press honors, Texas Broadcast News Awards and RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Awards as part of WFAA's reporting teams. In 2019, Liou was named the recipient of the RTDNA/RTDNF Michele Clark Fellowship, recognizing promising minority journalists. She has also been a frequent speaker and instructor for organizations including the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) and Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE).

Liou gave birth to her son in August 2022.

Before joining WFAA, Liou spent two years as a reporter and multimedia journalist at News 9 KWTV in Oklahoma City, where she covered severe weather and breaking news. While there, she traveled to Haiti as a solo journalist for an Emmy Award-winning story and served as a senior multimedia journalist, helping train other reporters.

Earlier in her career, Liou worked as a reporter, multimedia journalist and anchor at KWQC in Davenport, Iowa, and as a reporter and producer at KTVE/KARD in West Monroe, Louisiana. She also gained valuable newsroom experience at KTVU in Oakland, California, beginning as an intern before being promoted to overnight assignment editor.

Interestingly, Liou's career path didn't begin in journalism. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business, she worked as an associate marketing manager at Salesforce. She later made what she has described as a "leap of faith" to pursue journalism full-time—a decision she has called one of the best she has ever made.

Her move to KGO marks a homecoming. In addition to growing up in the Bay Area and attending Santa Clara University, Liou previously interned in KGO's marketing research department before launching her on-air journalism career.

Greg Kerr retires from NewsChannel 10 KFDA Amarillo

Greg Kerr has announced his retirement from NewsChannel 10 KFDA in Amarillo on July 2, 2026, after more than 35 years in television news and sports.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2026

- Dan Joseph joins NewsChannel 10 KFDA Amarillo

Here is his goodbye message to NewsChannel 10 viewers:

"When my wife and I moved to Amarillo on January 1, 2022, snow was falling as we were unloading the U-Haul and it was cold. We were so very happy to be here and welcomed by a warm and friendly community. I was also really eager for my first day of many at NewsChannel 10.

My time at NewsChannel 10 was a challenge of the bat. I was tasked with replacing a Panhandle local TV legend in Walt Howard. From the very first day, it’s been an honor to deliver the news and carry on the tradition, along with Doppler Dave Oliver, of keeping KFDA the number one, most watched local news station in the market. I’ve had the pleasure of working and becoming great friends with many who’ve worked here, that I will always treasure.

Outside of the newsroom, we have enjoyed area restaurants, riding our bicycles inside Palo Duro Canyon and loving the warm summer nights and brilliant sunsets.

My career began as a sportscaster, transitioned to news and now I’m retiring from the industry. It’s been a journey from Texas to Illinois, down to Oklahoma City and out to North Carolina before returning to Texas.

It’s been a run of 43 years, and I’ve been blessed to go to a job that I wanted to do each and every day.

Thank you Amarillo for all you have done for my wife Sheryl and me. You have made us feel like we were home.

I hope to continue a connection with NewsChannel 10 in the future.

Much love, Greg Kerr."

Although retiring from daily television news, Kerr is not stepping away completely. He launched a new chapter as a part-time social media content creator with Let’s Get Kerrific! based in the Austin metro area, where he says he hopes to bring more than 40 years of news and sports experience while continuing to engage audiences across digital platforms.

- Lindsey Stiner joins Newschannel 10 KFDA Amarillo

Kerr’s broadcasting journey began in Texas and is now coming full circle as he signs off from Amarillo after four and a half years as NewsChannel 10’s primetime anchor.

During his time at KFDA, Kerr helped lead coverage of breaking news and severe weather while becoming active in the Texas Panhandle community through efforts including the Together We Can Food Drive, 24 Hours in the Canyon, and support of the Ronald McDonald House and other local causes.

Kerr joined KFDA following a lengthy career spanning multiple markets and roles in news and sports.

A graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism, Kerr launched his television career as a sports anchor at KLST-TV in San Angelo in 1983 before moving to Austin’s KTBC-TV as a sports anchor in 1984.

He later became Sports Director at KFDM-TV in Beaumont, where he spent nine years before moving to Springfield, Illinois, to serve as Sports Director at WICS-TV. Kerr then joined KWTV-TV in Oklahoma City as a sports anchor before heading to WFMY-TV in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he spent nearly eight years as Sports Director and helped oversee large-scale sports programming and special broadcast projects.

Kerr returned to Texas in 2010, joining Fox Sports Southwest in Dallas as a news anchor. There, he anchored Dallas Stars Live and Dallas Stars Insider, along with Dallas Mavericks Live, San Antonio Spurs Live, and High School Spotlight, while also writing, editing, producing, and voicing segments for the Texas Rangers Magazine Show.

In 2012, Kerr returned to KTBC-TV in Austin to anchor FOX 7 News in the Morning and Good Day Austin, marking a return to the station where he had worked earlier in his career.

After nearly three decades in sports television, Kerr transitioned into news full-time. He joined KFDM/KBTV in Beaumont as a morning news anchor in 2013, then returned to his roots in West Texas as a news anchor at KLST in San Angelo from 2020 to 2021.

Kerr joined KFDA in Amarillo in January 2022, where he closed out his on-air career as evening anchor.

Throughout his career, Kerr earned numerous honors, including two Lone Star Emmy Awards — one in sports and one in news.

Gage Goulding leaves KPRC 2 Houston

Gage Goulding announced tonight that he is leaving his KPRC 2 Houston reporting job this week.

UPDATE JULY 2026
Gage Goulding Joins CNN as Seoul-Based International Correspondent

ALSO HAPPENING:
- Robert Arnold also leaves KPRC 2 Houston
- KPRC 2 to bring back a morning traffic anchor

Here is what Goulding posted:

"Thank you, Houston.

This week will be my last at KPRC 2.

When I arrived in Houston, I knew I was joining one of the biggest, most diverse and passionate communities in the country. What I didn't know was just how much of an impact this city would have on me.

Over the past several years, you've welcomed me into your homes, trusted me with your stories and allowed me to witness some of the most significant moments in our community.

Together, we've endured hurricanes, heartbreaking tragedies, incredible victories and countless reminders of what makes this city so special.

For that trust, I am deeply grateful.

While my time at KPRC is coming to an end, this isn't goodbye. A new chapter begins soon and I look forward to sharing more about it.

Until then, thank you, Houston."

And stay tuned...I hear there will be another departure from Channel 2 this week (UPDATE: Robert Arnold).

Goulding joined KPRC 2 Houston as a reporter in December 2023.  Hopefully, neither this nor that caused him to leave.

In good Houston news, he got married in 2024 while working here.

On a serious note, Goulding was always putting himself out there on places like Reddit to get the Houston news scoops.

Before arriving in Houston, Goulding spent three years at NBC2 WBBH in Fort Myers, Florida, joining the station in December 2020.

Earlier in his career, Goulding worked as an anchor and reporter at WTOV News 9 in Steubenville, Ohio, and as a digital content producer at KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Since joining KPRC 2, Goulding has continued to earn industry recognition. He received the 2025 Texas Broadcast News Award for Best News Reporter and was part of award-winning coverage recognized with two 2024 Lone Star Emmy Awards for Weather/News (“Driving Through a Tornado”) and Breaking Spot News-Team (“Lakewood Church Shooting”). He previously earned a 2024 Suncoast Emmy Award for Best Reporter for “Live, Local and Breaking – Gage Goulding Reports.”

A graduate of Robert Morris University, Goulding earned recognition early in his career, winning multiple journalism honors, including a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award while still in college.

Jason Nguyen named KPRC 2 Early Evening Executive Reporter

Jason Nguyen

Jason Nguyen was promoted to the KPRC 2 Houston's Early Evening Executive Reporter position in June 2026.

While this sounds like an on-air position, it is not.  However, Nguyen has appeared on the Channel 2 newscasts when needed. This would be like an executive producer role at another TV station, but from what I understand, it involves working more closely with field reporters.

Nguyen takes over for longtime FOX 26 KRIV reporter John Donnelly, who, according to multiple sources, has left KPRC.  Donnelly was one of the first executive reporters hired in 2025 for this newly created position, along with former ABC13 KTRK reporter Kevin Quinn.

"These Executive Reporter roles reflect our commitment to building a more field-oriented newsroom. We’re adding more reporters than ever, and with that growth comes the responsibility to support them with strong, respected leaders," Ana Lastra, KPRC 2's news director, told mikemcguff.com at the time. "John and Kevin will work side-by-side with our teams to elevate storytelling, improve execution in the field, and ensure our journalism remains accurate, compelling, and deeply connected to Houston’s communities."

Nguyen joined KPRC 2 in 2022 as an Investigative Producer and quickly became a key member of the station's renowned investigative unit. He was promoted to Senior Investigative Producer in 2024, helping co-lead an 11-member team responsible for some of Houston's most impactful investigations across television, digital, and streaming platforms.

Throughout his career, Nguyen has earned recognition for producing and reporting award-winning investigations and documentaries. His work includes co-producing The Evidence Room: The Texas Killing Fields, which earned a Lone Star Emmy Award, and Drained: Exposing Corruption and Water Billing Issues, which received an Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) Award. He also helped produce the Telly Award-winning documentary ASTROWORLD: Countdown to Tragedy.

Before arriving in Houston, Nguyen served as an Investigative Reporter and fill-in anchor at ABC4 Utah in Salt Lake City, where he conducted in-depth investigations into government accountability, public safety, education, and first-responder mental health. He also launched the "Weight of the Call" series, examining the emotional toll of emergency response work.

His television career has taken him across the country, including reporting/MMJ/photojournalist positions at KATU in Portland, Oregon; KTVX in Salt Lake City; WKYC in Cleveland; and WINK News in Fort Myers, Florida. Nguyen began his journalism career in 2007 as a photographer and editor at WTVG in Toledo, Ohio.

Beyond the newsroom, Nguyen is known for his commitment to community engagement and mentorship. At KPRC 2, he founded CelebrAsian, an employee resource group within Graham Media Group focused on representation, culture, and workplace belonging.

Outside of his investigative work, Nguyen made some news of his own when he proposed to his girlfriend, and former ABC13 reporter Rosie Nguyen, at the Asian American Journalists Association’s 2024 annual convention!
