Sherman Desselle has joined the communications team at CenterPoint Energy as a Senior Corporate Media Specialist after departing FOX 26 Houston KRIV in June 2026.
"This season is called: Taking the Leap," Desselle posted.
He added on LinkedIn that he is working with a former FOX 26 colleague, Lena Arango (now going by Lena Dziechowski), who is the CenterPoint chief meteorologist.
Before moving to Houston, he worked at WDSU 6 in New Orleans, where he served as a weekend anchor beginning in 2019.
During his journalism career, Desselle earned the RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the documentary History and Hope: Our Hidden Past.
A graduate of Northwestern State University, Desselle began his television career at News Channel 5 KALB in Alexandria, Louisiana. He started as a part-time photographer and steadily advanced through the newsroom, serving as a multimedia journalist, weekend anchor, and eventually morning anchor.
