Greg Kerr returns to KTBC FOX 7 as anchor for “FOX 7 News in the Morning” and “Good Day Austin,” announced the station’s Vice President and News Director, Pam Vaught. Kerr will be on the air starting Monday, July 16th, returning to the station where he began his career over two decades ago.
In making the announcement, Vaught stated “We have a great team on “FOX 7 News in the Morning” and “Good Day Austin,” and we’re looking forward to adding Greg. He brings years of experience in news and sports to FOX 7. Plus, it’s a homecoming for Greg since he started his TV career here.”
Most recently, Kerr has served as a freelance anchor/reporter for FOX Sports Southwest in Dallas, TX. Prior to that, he served as Sports Director and News Anchor for WFMY-TV in Greensboro, NC for nine years. Earlier in his career, Kerr was Sports Anchor/Reporter at KWTV-TV in Oklahoma City, OK. He also was Sports Director/Anchor at WICS-TV in Springfield, IL. He began his career as the evening news anchor at KLST-TV in San Angelo, TX and then became Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter at KTBC FOX 7.
Kerr added, "I am thrilled to be coming back to FOX 7 and joining the “Good Day” team with Katherine, Keri and Zack. I've traded my sports hat and enthusiastically move over to the news side and I couldn't be more excited about re-establishing myself with FOX 7 and the Austin area community. As I began my career here, I know firsthand the history of KTBC and the quality news programming this station delivers.”
A graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma, Kerr holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.
