Ryann Jones announced she is joining the NBC 5 Today morning newscast at KXAS in Dallas-Fort Worth for weather and traffic duties.

"New job title, same tv station, MUCH earlier alarm clock," Jones posted. "I am now a permanent member of the NBC 5 Today team bringing you weather and traffic at 5,7, and 11am and now my day looks like this!"
Jones joined NBC 5 in July 2024 as a Meteorologist Associate.
A familiar face at NBC 5, Jones previously interned at the station before returning to DFW in 2024.
Before returning to North Texas, Jones worked as a weekend evening meteorologist at KYTX CBS19 in Tyler. She later moved to Florida, joining First Coast News WTLV/WJXX in Jacksonville as a weekend morning meteorologist during her final year at Embry-Riddle.
While in Florida, Jones earned recognition from the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists for her on-air work and covered everything from community events to severe weather.
