Alex Garcia and Chuck Miketinac's bios have been removed from the FOX 29 San Antonio KABB website.
Miketinac has officially marked his time with FOX SA as ended on LinkedIn.
In early September 2026, when Sinclair Broadcast Group conducted layoffs at its San Antonio duopoly, FTV heard Garcia and Miketinac might have been unfortunately cut, but both were still on the station's website bios page at the time.
While we do not know whether the longtime FOX San Antonio employees were part of the layoffs, it is likely since their bios are gone.
In August, Sinclair sister station CBS Austin KEYE also had job cuts.
Chief Meteorologist Alex Garcia
Garcia is a veteran San Antonio broadcast meteorologist who spent decades forecasting the weather for South Texas television viewers.
He served as chief meteorologist for Fox San Antonio’s Fox News at Nine. He also spent more than a decade at competitor KENS 5 San Antonio, where he worked as an on-air meteorologist and helicopter environmental reporter from 1983 to 1995.
Garcia’s broadcasting career has included a variety of newsroom roles, including meteorologist, reporter, assignment editor, and news director. He previously served as news director at KAVU-TV in Victoria, Texas, from 1980 to 1983.
Throughout his career, Garcia earned the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval and received six Associated Press Awards for Best Weathercast. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society, the National Weather Association, and the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his television career, Garcia has worked in education. He has taught students from elementary school to college, including at the University of Houston. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of the Incarnate Word, teaching meteorology, oceanography, astronomy, and science courses for elementary education teachers. Garcia has also been involved in science education programs for teachers and students across Texas.
He has been president and CEO of Storm Science Network Inc. since 2000.
Garcia is married to his high school sweetheart, Eva. They have a daughter, Angelique, and a son, Alejandro. He is also a proud grandfather and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, Michael, Lili, and Jayla.
His education includes a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, a master’s degree from the University of Houston-Victoria, and meteorology studies at Mississippi State University.
Sports Anchor/Director Chuck Miketinac
Miketinac is a veteran San Antonio sports broadcaster who spent more than three decades working in the city’s television sports market, including more than 30 years at Fox San Antonio.
Miketinac joined Fox San Antonio in 1995 and became the station’s Sports Director/Anchor for Maximum Sports in 1999.
Before joining Fox San Antonio, Miketinac spent five years as an anchor and sports reporter at cross-town rival KENS 5.
His broadcasting career began in 1988 at the former KVTV 13 in Laredo, Texas, where he operated as a one-man sports department.
Miketinac was born at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and grew up traveling around the country as the son of a retired Army general.
A graduate of Madison High School in San Antonio, Miketinac earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Texas State University in San Marcos, then known as Southwest Texas State.
His great-uncle, Nick Miketinac, played lineman for the Green Bay Packers in the 1930s.
Miketinac is married and has three children.
