Brandon Schaff is joining KVUE Austin as a reporter after spending the past year at TEGNA's sister station, WTHR, in Indianapolis.
Schaff announced the move on Instagram, saying his next chapter is bringing him back to Texas, where he will join his fiancée, meteorologist Kristin Walla, at KVUE.
“Today is my last day at WTHR,” Schaff wrote. “My next chapter takes me back to Texas. I’ll be rejoining my fiancée [Walla] as a reporter at KVUE in Austin. I can’t wait to call the Lone Star State home again!”
Schaff joined WTHR 13NEWS in 2025 as a multimedia journalist, covering news and events across central Indiana.
Before WTHR, Schaff worked at KIII 3 News in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he served as a sports anchor and multimedia journalist.
The engaged couple both previously worked for KIII.
Schaff is no stranger to Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington before earning a master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
