Brett Anthony left his CBS19 KYTX Tyler chief meteorologist role in September 2026 for the same job with KY3 KYTV Springfield, Missouri.
KY3 announced that Anthony will lead the station's First Alert Weather team beginning this fall. He succeeds longtime Chief Meteorologist Ron Hearst, who is retiring after 38 years serving viewers across the Ozarks.
Anthony joined CBS19 in December 2020.
Before coming to East Texas, Anthony served as chief meteorologist at KJRH 2 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Anthony previously spent 11 years at KSHB in Kansas City, Missouri, before moving to Tulsa.
His television career began in Cleveland, Ohio, at WOIO/WUAB, where he was a weekend meteorologist.
Anthony earned a degree in meteorology from Western Kentucky University, where he attended from 1995 to 1997. He previously earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio-TV from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, graduating in 1987.
He holds the American Meteorological Society's Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal and is a two-time regional Emmy Award winner for his weather coverage and special projects.
