Former FOX 26 KRIV Houston reporter Abigail Dye was featured on the nationally syndicated Inside Edition after a frightening incident during marathon training.
Dye told Inside Edition that two Good Samaritans warned her a man was chasing her as she ran. The former Houston TV reporter captured video of the man, but when she turned to face him, he quickly walked in the opposite direction.
According to Dye's Instagram post, the incident happened in Houston's Montrose neighborhood on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, around 11 a.m.
"Female runners (honestly anyone) keep an eye out," Dye posted. "We can never be too aware of our surroundings and I’m so grateful that some good Samaritans took on that awareness for me. Be safe out there."
Dye left FOX 26 Houston on September 10, 2025, after choosing not to renew her contract, a station source previously told mikemcguff.com.
She joined KRIV in September 2023 from FOX23 News KOKI in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she spent two years as the station's Crime and Safety Reporter. That November, she took over duties for the station's "FOX 26 Crime Files" segment.
Before moving to Tulsa, Dye worked on the digital team at WSYX 6 in Columbus, Ohio.
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Dye also interned with the investigative team at NBC Los Angeles KNBC.
