KPRC 2 announces new "ENOUGH" 10pm newscast debut

KPRC 2 Houston announced that its new investigative-focused 10 p.m. newscast, "ENOUGH," premieres on September 13, 2026.

More from the KPRC website:

KPRC 2 News is making a new commitment to accountability journalism — digging deeper into the issues affecting Houstonians and pushing for answers about what’s working, what isn’t and what happens next.

At the heart of our reporting are three simple questions:

    Who is responsible?

    Why hasn’t this been fixed?

    What happens next?

And sometimes, the question is even simpler: Does this actually work?

Some upcoming stories on ENOUGH will include a look at the new Texas school voucher program and what's up with the Houston-to-Dallas high-speed train.

In a LinkedIn Post, KPRC 2 VP/General Manager Sean McLaughlin described ENOUGH as a way to address the fact that TV news audiences are shrinking and aging.

"At KPRC, we are about to do the unimaginable," McLaughlin wrote.  "We are blowing up the late news.  That’s right. We are #1 in the May ratings at 10pm, our top-rated newscast, and we are about to do what’s needed to happen for years: developing a new approach.  Enough is a news show devoted to diving deep into a major story each day.  Investigations and accountability.  No fluff.  Built digital first, and around a constant 2-way communication stream with our community.  No more fake breaking news, no more crime-obsessed stories as you end your day.  Instead, stories that aim for impact and results, serious reporting meant to connect with people wanting to understand what is happening in Houston and why.  Stories told creatively.  This isn’t going to be your parents’ newscast.  A modern approach that aims to re-engage our communities, on the platform of their choice."

"I think with enough, the core work is there," KPRC news director Ana Lastra said in an ENOUGH recruitment video posted on YouTube and the Channel 2 website.  "But a lot of times with investigative work, it can leave people understanding, like, what's next or how does this help me? Or what's the solution if there isn't one, or who's going to be held accountable for this? And that's what the added layer is. It's closing the loop on everything."

In the video, Lastra says that 20-plus staffers will be devoted to the ENOUGH team. Also featured are clips of reporters Amy Davis, Joel Eisenbaum, Rilwan Balogun and anchor Stephania Jimenez.

"This is a moment. This is a calling right now," Jimenez said in the video.  "I don't know of any other newsroom right now in the country that are really innovating and starting something new from scratch."
