Dominique Newland has joined ABC7 KABC Los Angeles as a reporter, effective January 2026.
Before making the move to Southern California, Newland joined FOX 10 KSAZ Phoenix in December 2023 as a weekend anchor and reporter.
Prior to Phoenix, Newland worked at KVUE in Austin, where she served as a weekend morning anchor/reporter after joining the station in November 2021. She came to Austin from KYMA 11/13 in Yuma, Arizona, where she had been working since June 2019.
Newland is a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington and previously interned with CBS’s The Late Late Show, as well as Indianapolis stations WISH-TV 8 and WTHR 13. Newland was also an anchor/reporter for Indiana University Student Television (IUSTV) and served as a special affairs chair for the local chapter of The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).
Liz Nagy joined ABC7 Los Angeles KABC in October 2025 from sister station ABC7 Chicago WLS, where she served as a general assignment reporter and contributed to the station’s investigative I-Team.
Like former ABC13 Houston reporter Kevin Ozebek, Nagy previously reported for KABC on loan during the Los Angeles wildfires, and now officially returns to Southern California as part of the station’s newsroom.
Nagy began her tenure at ABC7 Chicago in March 2016 as a per diem reporter and was promoted to staff general assignment reporter later that year.
Before joining WLS, Nagy spent several years at WSVN 7 in Miami, working as a nightside reporter and fill-in anchor.
She previously helped launch the weekend morning newscast Three In The Morning at WEAR ABC 3 in Pensacola, Florida.
Prior to that, she served as a weekend morning anchor and reporter at WVIR NBC29 in Charlottesville, Virginia.
A graduate of Elon University, Nagy began her career at WEIU-TV in Charleston, Illinois.
Kelley Moody joined NBC4 Los Angeles, KNBC, as a freelance meteorologist in September 2025.
Before arriving at NBC Los Angeles, Moody served as the weekend evening meteorologist for KESQ News Channel 3 in Palm Springs in 2021.
She previously worked as the morning meteorologist for KCCI 8 News in Des Moines.
Her history with KESQ dates back to 2016–2019, when she worked as a meteorologist, anchor, and reporter.
The Emmy winner also worked for NBC News as an assistant, associate producer, and intern for Dateline NBC.
An eighth-generation Californian, Kelley earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Television and Broadcast Journalism from Chapman University, with double minors in Peace Studies and Sociology. She also holds a Broadcast and Operational Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University.
Hunter Sowards joined CBS Los Angeles KCBS and KCAL Los Angeles as a reporter in the summer of 2025, after serving as an anchor and reporter at sister station CBS13 Sacramento KOVR.
An award-winning journalist, Sowards joined CBS13 in 2023 after several years anchoring and reporting for KUSI in San Diego.
Before heading west, she was the primary anchor at KTRE 9, the station she grew up watching in her hometown of Nacogdoches, Texas.
Sowards is a 2016 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, where she majored in radio and television broadcasting and earned placement on the Dean’s and President’s Lists. As part of her studies, she interned at KTRE and later at KLTV in Tyler.
Her storytelling has earned wide recognition, including multiple first-place awards from the San Diego Press Club, four Emmy nominations, and finalist honors in the 2023 San Diego Union-Tribune Readers Poll for “Best Local News Anchor” and “Best Television Personality.”
Nic Garcia, an Emmy Award–winning journalist, joined FOX 11 Los Angeles KTTV as a reporter in the summer of 2025 after serving as a weekend anchor and reporter at ABC30 KFSN Fresno, California.
His reporting career has taken him across the West, with previous stops in Fresno, El Paso, and Western Montana.
Garcia is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, where he earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science. He is also an active member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ).
Velez left her role as nightside reporter and fill-in anchor at CBS Austin KEYE in October 2025.
I incorrectly guessed she was headed to the Dallas-Fort Worth TV market since her husband and NBC 5 DFW KXAS reporter, Keenan Willard, works there. But tonight, Willard posted he is heading to LA too!
She first joined CBS Austin in August 2023 as the morning reporter and multimedia journalist, and was promoted to the nightside shift in 2024.
Her journalism career began in Eastern North Carolina, where she worked as a multimedia journalist for WNCT 9.
Before entering broadcasting, Velez held the title of Miss San Antonio USA 2022 and founded #ValueYourVote, a civic engagement initiative encouraging informed participation in elections.
Velez graduated with honors from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio in December 2022 with a degree in Multimedia Journalism. During her time at UIW, she served as lead anchor and reporter for UIWtv, contributed to The Logos student newspaper, hosted on the campus radio station, and was chief of staff for the Student Government Association.
She previously attended El Paso Community College and the University of Texas at El Paso before transferring to UIW on scholarship.

Willard joined NBC DFW in November 2023 as a reporter for the station’s 10 p.m. newscast.
He returned to Texas from WRAL in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he reported from April 2021 to 2023.
Willard began his professional television career at KFOX14 in El Paso in 2019.
A graduate of Washington and Lee University, he previously interned with CNN in Atlanta and WBFF FOX 45 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Former FOX 26 KRIV Houston reporter Matthew Seedorff, who now works for sister station FOX 11 Los Angeles KTTV, posted that the new, apparently unmarked news truck he and his photographer were using to cover the LA area protests was essentially destroyed.
Seedorff was assigned to cover the protests in nearby Paramount, California and this is what he said in the video:
"So this is what's left of our work car. We had it parked near the scene.
Obviously, we got here right at the beginning, before we knew it was going to escalate to the situation that it got to.
This is a brand new news truck that we just got. Looks like the tires were slashed. They busted into the windows. We'll see.
Our personal bags were in the car. They stole all the stuff that was inside. There are some things here.

Lindsey Peña has joined KTLA 5 Los Angeles and Southern California from 10 News San Diego KGTV.
Peña had been with 10News since April 2017, serving as a 5 p.m. anchor and reporter. According to her 10News bio, Peña covered the LGBTQIA+ and Native American communities in the San Diego area. In 2020, Peña initiated a series of reports focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, titled "Stories for Change."
She previously worked in her hometown for Nexstar Media Group's Fresno duopoly stations, CBS47 KGPE and KSEE24. In fact, she began her career at KSEE24 as a Fresno State intern, progressing from the assignment desk to the anchor position.
CBS Los Angeles (KCBS/KCAL) has announced that Rudabeh Shahbazi will join Pat Harvey as co-anchor of the weekday evening newscasts, stepping into the role previously held by Chauncy Glover, who passed away in November 2024.
Sheba Turk has been promoted to Shahbazi’s former morning anchor role on KCAL News Mornings. Beginning Monday, April 28, she will co-anchor alongside Jamie Yuccas.
A four-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, Shahbazi will co-anchor the 5:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 11:00 PM newscasts with Harvey.
Turk will join the station’s eight-hour morning news block, including the CBS News Los Angeles streaming channel, and will anchor from 7:00–10:00 AM.

Adam Krueger is known for his Sneaking Words in the Weather segment, but now he is actively forecasting with rock and roll royalty, Gene Simmons of KISS!
Krueger, who joined FOX 11 Los Angeles KTTV in September 2024 as chief meteorologist, certainly has more access to Hollywood celebrities in his new role after leaving his chief met role with CW39 Houston KIAH.
"You look much better in real life than you do on TV," Simmons told Krueger live on FOX 11!
As for Simmons, this is not the first time the "God of Thunder" played TV weatherman in LA. Last September, the KISS bassist/singer appeared on KTLA 5 Morning News with meteorologist Henry DiCarlo. ABC7 KABC should get on in the action with Disney synergy and have Rachel Zegler promote Snow White with new hire Carley Gomez!
Now Simmons needs to do the weather with Krueger's CW39 successor Jonathan Novack in Houston since the man who invented the KISS Kasket was born here!

Carley Gomez joins ABC7 KABC Los Angeles reporter from ABC 10 Sacramento KXTV, where she was an EMMY award-winning meteorologist and climate reporter since 2019.
"I’m so blessed and thrilled to now be working my dream job at my dream station at ABC7 LA," Gomez posted.
Before joining ABC 10, Gomez worked as a meteorologist for NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation, from 2017 to 2019 in Tokyo.
Prior to that, she spent nearly four years at KMTR NBC 16 in Eugene, Oregon, where she served as a morning meteorologist and reporter, as well as a sports reporter/multimedia journalist/producer.
Gomez’s journalism career began at KVAL 13 in Eugene, where she worked as a multimedia journalist and producer, covering breaking news and producing the 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts.
The California State University, Fullerton grad also worked in radio and public television, producing and hosting “Carley’s World” on Titan Radio and reporting for KOCE Television, a PBS affiliate in Orange County as a student.
She gained early experience at Fox News Channel as an intern reporter and assistant producer, where she covered high-profile entertainment and political events, including the Grammy Awards and the Conrad Murray arraignment.
She later received her meteorology certification through Mississippi State University.
The cause of death of former ABC13 Houston KTRK anchor and CBS Los Angeles stations KCBS 2 and KCAL 9 co-anchor Chauncy Glover, 39, has been determined.
In a press release issued today, the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner determined the cause of death for 39-year-old journalist and news anchor Chauncy Cortez Glover as acute intoxication by the combined effects of chloroethane and methamphetamine.
The manner of death is an accident.
Deadline reports that according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, chloroethane is a colorless gas used to numb the skin before medical procedures such as ear piercing and skin biopsies and as a treatment for sports injuries.
Glover was found unresponsive in his home on November 5, 2024, and death was pronounced by fire department personnel.
A deputy medical examiner completed an examination on November 6, 2024, and after the return of relevant tests and studies, the cause and manner of death were certified on February 19, 2025.
The Medical Examiner’s report is expected to be ready by the end of March.
Rumors that Kevin Ozebek would likely not return to ABC13 KTRK Houston after helping ABC7 KABC Los Angeles during the wildfire coverage have proven true.
TVNewsCheck reports that former KTRK GM Wendy Granato (now KABC GM) has hired Ozebek at the ABC-owned LA station.
Brandon De Hoyos, the director of community engagement, will also be moving to KABC from KTRK to succeed Vice President of Diversity and Community Engagement Teresa Samaniego.
Maybe more Channel 13 Houston employees will be heading west to La La Land!
Carlos Sánchez leaves Telemundo 48 KTDO El Paso to become weekend news anchor/reporter for Noticiero Telemundo 52 KVEA Los Angeles, reports TVNewsCheck.
“Carlos brings a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges faced by the Latino community, not only here in the United States but also both along the Mexico border and in Mexico,” said Miguel Gaytan, KVEA vice president of news. “His extensive experience, combined with his passion for storytelling, will enhance our commitment to delivering impactful, trustworthy and empowering news coverage for our Southern California audiences.”
He will start in January 2025.
Sánchez joined Telemundo 48 El Paso in 2018, where he was the station's lead evening anchor. While in Texas, he won 19 Lone Star EMMY Awards.
He previously worked for KTLM Rio Grande Valley and, before that, was at KTDO as a reporter.
The Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez and the Municipal Arts Center of Ciudad Juárez grad spent eight years as an anchor for XHIJ Canal 44 Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
Star Harvey has left PIX11 WPIX New York City weekend mornings to be a meteorologist for FOX 11 Los Angeles KTTV.
If Harvey's name sounds familiar to a Houston TV news watcher, it's because she left CW39 Houston KIAH in April 2022 for the Big Apple Nexstar Media Group-owned station.
The Los Angeles native is reunited with former CW39 Houston chief meteorologist and colleague Adam Krueger at FOX Los Angeles.
"Now, here I am—standing on the other side of the dream," Harvey posted on Instagram. "I’ve made it back home, not just to Los Angeles, but to the station that inspired me as a little girl. I am grateful beyond words."

Back to Harvey, the "NO WAIT WEATHER + TRAFFIC" morning meteorologist and co-host of the lifestyle show "Houston Happens" joined CW39 in early 2021.
Before her role at CW39, Harvey worked at Nexstar Media Group's KIAH sister station, KREX 5 News, in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Before KREX 5, she was a news assistant at ABC7 KABC Los Angeles.
A California State University, Northridge graduate, Harvey also gained experience as a newsroom editor and anchor for the university-owned radio station 88.5 KCSN. She later earned a geoscience degree from Mississippi State University (MSU).
Chauncy Glover's family, friends, and television co-workers celebrated and remembered him at his funeral service Saturday in Athens, Alabama, at the Lindsay Lane Baptist Church.
Glover, 39, former ABC13 Houston KTRK anchor and current CBS Los Angeles stations KCBS 2- KCAL 9 co-anchor, died in early November. No cause of death has been released. CBS Los Angeles live-streamed Glover's funeral service for the world to see.
Moreno and Lawson participated in the service, giving emotional remembrances of the former television anchor that let the rest of us know the person he was off camera.
Moreno celebrated Glover for their special bond as an anchor team:
"For eight years, Chauncy and I sat side by side delivering the news, but he was so much more than a co-worker. He was a friend, my confidant, my partner in crime. We were, as many would say, two peas in a pod. When you saw us on TV, we had our little routine. We had matching outfits and matching energy. And boy, did people think we were married. So to this day, if you Google his name, the top search is are Chauncy Glover and Mayra Moreno still married.
Over the years we bonded because we grew together as a team. We started weekend mornings getting to the station at three in the morning. And boy, was that so rough. We would say this is temporary. One day we'll go Monday through Friday, which we did. And we launched the station's first 3:00 newscast in the city. And that was just the beginning. On days when he was low on energy, he was like, boo! I'm gonna need you to carry this newscast today. And I was like, I got you. On days when I was low, I said, boo. It's been a week. He already knew what to do. We cared about our product. And everything that people saw on screen was real. We knew how to roll with the punches at work, with breaking news or last minute changes. We could finish each other's sentences. And if my hair was off, he would fix it. If his forehead was shiny, I would tell him.
One time, a button from his suit popped out and he was like, Myra, I'm gonna need your help, girl. And there I was, trying to figure out how am I going to get his suit together, y'all. I had a safety pin and getting him together during a commercial break, trying to count down the time. He was mind blown, y'all. I told him, baby, I'm a Mexi-CAN.
When he left for L.A. it was bittersweet. I wanted him to get that dream job, that big time TV market. But I also knew that meant breaking up the team. I joked with him saying, you're going to miss this Mexi-CAN. And sure enough, he did. And it felt so much recently when I would get a message from him simply saying I miss you, or texting a picture of us from back in the day and I would simply text him, I miss you too, boo! Since I heard about Chauncy's passing, his laughter, his smile, and his bright, joyful spirit have been on my mind constantly. Those memories, the way he could light up a room with a single joke or just a kind word, are all the things that I'm going to hold close to my heart. I take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, embraced by God's love. I trust that he's in a place where laughter never fades and joy never ends. Until we meet again."

"He was such an amazing man. He taught us how to live life to the fullest and love people to the deepest. Chauncy was born to enrich the lives of others. He made us all feel like his best friend. And as I listen to everybody else talk clearly, he learned it right here. We come to you from a city now in grief. Houston is mourning the loss of Chauncy Glover. I'm a Houstonian. I've worked at the station longer than Chauncey's been alive, if you do the math on that. Um, but I have to tell you, I've never seen so many people in such grief so devastated by the loss of a single person, including so many who never met him in person but felt like they knew him because we all saw Chauncey on screen, was just like Chauncey in person. He adopted Houston and we adopted him.
I was so blessed to get a chance to meet him on the first day, thanks to our former president and general manager, Wendy Granato. Wendy. Stand up, if you would. Just so we can see you. Wendy came to me and said, I'm interviewing this guy. We really want him to come here. He's got a lot of other offers. So close the deal for me. Melanie and I thought, close the deal, but it wasn't hard. We got a chance to sit down and talk for almost an hour, and by the time he left, we were already family. I have to thank Wendy for being so smart.
That was Chauncey's M.O. He was the new kid, but suddenly he knew more about the station than any of us. Within weeks, he knew everybody in town from the mayor, half of the Congress people to barbers and bus drivers. Right. That was Chauncey. He saw everyone as the same, and everyone was part of his family."
It was a beautiful day celebrating our wonderful friend & colleague.
