Star Harvey is the weekend morning meteorologist for PIX11 News WPIX New York after leaving CW 39 KIAH Houston.
"I’ve arrived in New York and I’m extremely excited to share I’ve joined the WPIX team," Harvey tweeted. "Live debut next weekend. Tune in 8-10am to show some love."
Harvey posted the news about her PIX11 WPIX hiring with a photo of her taken on the Brooklyn Bridge.
Looks like my guess about Harvey going to a Nexstar Media Group station was right on target! Although I must admit, considering Harvey is from Los Angeles, I privately thought she might be heading to KTLA. Speaking of moves in the same week...another Houston talent is heading to LA television.
Harvey joined CW39 Houston in early 2021 from KREX News 5 News Grand Junction, CO. She started out as a meteorologist for KIAH's "NO WAIT WEATHER+TRAFFIC" morning newscast and then expanded to co-hosting "Houston Happens" with Maggie Flecknoe.
The California State University, Northridge grad started in the broadcast biz as a news assistant for abc7 KABC Los Angeles.
