Carley Gomez joins ABC7 KABC Los Angeles


Carley Gomez joins ABC7 KABC Los Angeles reporter from ABC 10 Sacramento KXTV, where she was an EMMY award-winning meteorologist and climate reporter since 2019.

"I’m so blessed and thrilled to now be working my dream job at my dream station at ABC7 LA," Gomez posted.

Before joining ABC 10, Gomez worked as a meteorologist for NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation, from 2017 to 2019 in Tokyo. 

Prior to that, she spent nearly four years at KMTR NBC 16 in Eugene, Oregon, where she served as a morning meteorologist and reporter, as well as a sports reporter/multimedia journalist/producer.

Gomez’s journalism career began at KVAL 13 in Eugene, where she worked as a multimedia journalist and producer, covering breaking news and producing the 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts. 

The California State University, Fullerton grad also worked in radio and public television, producing and hosting “Carley’s World” on Titan Radio and reporting for KOCE Television, a PBS affiliate in Orange County as a student.

She gained early experience at Fox News Channel as an intern reporter and assistant producer, where she covered high-profile entertainment and political events, including the Grammy Awards and the Conrad Murray arraignment.

She later received her meteorology certification through Mississippi State University.
