Carlos Sánchez leaves Telemundo 48 KTDO El Paso to become weekend news anchor/reporter for Noticiero Telemundo 52 KVEA Los Angeles, reports TVNewsCheck.
“Carlos brings a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges faced by the Latino community, not only here in the United States but also both along the Mexico border and in Mexico,” said Miguel Gaytan, KVEA vice president of news. “His extensive experience, combined with his passion for storytelling, will enhance our commitment to delivering impactful, trustworthy and empowering news coverage for our Southern California audiences.”
He will start in January 2025.
Sánchez joined Telemundo 48 El Paso in 2018, where he was the station's lead evening anchor. While in Texas, he won 19 Lone Star EMMY Awards.
He previously worked for KTLM Rio Grande Valley and, before that, was at KTDO as a reporter.
The Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez and the Municipal Arts Center of Ciudad Juárez grad spent eight years as an anchor for XHIJ Canal 44 Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
