Tim Pandajis returns to 13News Now WVEC Norfolk

Tim Pandajis is rejoining 13News Now WVEC Norfolk, Virginia as chief meteorologist after leaving TEGNA sister station KHOU 11 Houston's weather department on 10-27-23.

Pandajis was hired by KHOU 11 from 13News Now WVEC Norfolk in June 2021.

Here is what Pandajis said on Facebook:

"Hampton Roads… it’ll sure be nice seeing you again!

I am humbled to be returning to Hampton Roads and stepping in to the position of Chief Meteorologist, a role held for 34 years by Jeff Lawson, an esteemed colleague, mentor, and friend, who has steered the WVEC team and this community through hundreds of weather events.  Having had the honor of working along with Jeff, I will miss his guidance, fun attitude, and overall presence in the Weather Department.  Quite simply, he is a legend.

I also look forward to working with the entire Weather Team again.  The individual strengths and expertise that both Evan Stewart and Craig Moeller bring are immeasurable, and key to our team’s success.  I also look forward to working with newer talented members of our team, Taylor and Frances!

My first day back in Norfolk will be November 6th.  I can’t wait to forecast for the different seasons again (Hello Team Snow!), and help you all stay ahead of the weather, no matter what it brings.

The pups, Martha, and I are so excited to return to a place that was incredibly hard to leave.  I look forward to seeing you all soon! 13News Now - WVEC Jeff Lawson 13News Now."

"From Joe Foulkes to me, 13News Now has a long history of Chief Meteorologists who have stayed for decades," Lawson said on the WVEC website.  "I know that Tim has what it takes to continue that tradition, and I hope you will join me in welcoming him back to Hampton Roads."

Lawson has worked for WVEC since 1990.  He will retire on November 15, 2023.

KHOU 11 staff changes as of the last few months with  Julissa GarzaKatiera Winfrey and Chris Ramirez joining the station, Michelle Choi changing schedules, Grace White taking a promotion plus reporters Gerald Harris and Janelle Bludau leaving. Recent channel 11 morning anchor  Dave Froehlich just debuted on Austin TV.

(Thanks Taylor!)
