Janelle Bludau leaves KHOU 11

Janelle Bludau is leaving her KHOU 11 Houston reporting role and the television news business.

Here is what Bludau posted on Facebook:

"It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later!

After 11 years as a reporter...I’m starting a new story outside the news life. Friday was my last day at KHOU, and it’s truly bittersweet.

I’ve accepted a new role as the Director of Communications and Marketing for Memorial Park here in Houston, which I am incredibly excited about.

I had the most amazing goodbye party! Thank you everyone for all of the love and support you’ve shown me along the way!"

Bludau joined KHOU in June 2017.

The Hallettsville, Texas native returned to Houston to work as a freelance reporter for KPRC 2 in November 2016.

She came back to Houston after working for KSEE24 and CBS47 KGPE Fresno, California.

Her first television job was with Newscenter 25 KAVU Victoria as an anchor/reporter where she worked with Erika Lopez (KVUE/KHOU).

The Texas A&M grad interned with KBTX 3 Bryan/College Station.

We can presume that recent hire Katiera Winfrey is taking Bludau's reporter position.

(Thanks Shad!)
