CBS 11 KTVT Dallas - Fort Worth, AKA CBS News Texas, has a page on its website titled "Help us redesign your local morning news, get free stuff."
UPDATE
CBS DFW announces new morning newscast
A Metroplex TV viewer emailed me about it today (it sounds like they are promoting it on-air), so I had to check it out.
Now, to add some context, CBS News Texas has gone through many changes concerning its morning newscast in the last year. For example, we have seen the departures of AM news talents like Dominic Brown, Keith Russell, Alexis Wainwright, and Brooke Katz. A future addition to the AM news will be reporter Lacey Beasley.
I know a lot of TV viewers out there who would jump at a chance to redesign a newscast - they contact me all the time:
"CBS Texas is teaming up with our viewers to redesign your morning show!
Today's viewers seek genuine, relatable content, and we live in a customizable world. So today, we're committing to changing your AM news experience by customizing our show to fit into your lifestyle. Our interactive feedback tool is the first step in this journey, but it's only the beginning.
Help us rebuild the morning news!
Keep watching for new ways you can help us transform local morning news.
Share your opinions with us—we're listening! This is your show.
One more thing – we're offering a free prize to everyone who completes the News Producer interactive and joins our CBS Texas Mornings community."
Now, to join, you click the above link, and you are taken to a site by Qualtrics is a 10-question survey. Since I get test anxiety, lucky for me it says in bold, "there are no wrong answers." I can now relax again.
The survey asks about your news viewing habits, such as how much you watch each day, whether you watch on TV or another device, what you want to see in a morning newscast, and more. One question even asks about the style of anchor clothing!
Well, I filled out the survey with my honest opinion (since I don't live in DFW, they don't care what I think, but I did it for you) and was promised a free t-shirt if I provided my email. If the station sends the shirt, then I will have a fashion show for you on social media.
I'm still hoping for a free 97.1 The Eagle shirt, too.
(Thanks Dora)
