Alexis Wainwright left CBS News Texas 11 KTVT in Dallas - Fort Worth where she was a reporter/traffic anchor on December 12, 2023.

Wainwright now works for WUSA 9 Washington, DC as a traffic/anchor reporter.
"It’s bittersweet to say that I’m leaving one of my favorite places," Wainwright posted on Facebook. "It’s time for me to say goodbye to DFW. I really don’t even know the words to express my gratitude for every person, opportunity and piece of food that I’ve experienced here in Texas.
Wainwright joined KTVT in 2021 from KARK 4 and FOX 16 KLRT Little Rock, Arkansas where she was a reporter/fill-in anchor. In 2022, she moved to mornings as a reporter/traffic anchor.
An Emmy Award-winning journalist, Wainwright got her professional television news start with WJAC/WATM Central Pennsylvania as a multimedia journalist (MMJ)/reporter.
The North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University grad also earned a master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
She interned for ABC 7 News WJLA Washington, D.C. and the FOX News Channel.
