KTVT has rebranded as CBS News Texas instead of CBS DFW as of Wednesday afternoon February 22, 2023.
In the video below, you can see the now old CBS 11 / CBS DFW branding they were using Wednesday morning.
Since KEYE Austin is now owned by Sinclair, the only station CBS owns in Texas is KTVT, so I guess they can plant the Lone Star flag for the whole state with the new station name.
There have been many changes in the CBS TV family since Neeraj Khemlani and Wendy McMahon were hired in May 2021 as presidents and co-heads of CBS News, the CBS Television Stations and CBS News Digital.
Before the duo leaders were hired, the iconic CBS eye received a deconstructed facelift in 2020.
With just an eye on Texas, we have seen the CBS Station innovation lab opening in the studios of KTVT.
