Chelsey Khan is leaving her CBS Austin KEYE's "We are Austin" role with co-host Trevor Scott as of August 2025.
Here is what Scott posted online:
"The end of a really sweet era.
The whole co-host thing is a totally unique relationship. We’re real-life friends. Of course we’re friends. But even more than that, we’re also partners in this wonderful work. Copilots.
Co captains. Guides for our guests and each other’s safety nets. It’s special and it takes a special person to really make it work.
Chelsey Khan-TV is that special person and today we spent our last morning hour on TV together. She’s moving on to perhaps the most important job of all- mama.
We will miss her dearly but we’re also so excited for this next step. Thank you Chels for 3 years of fun and countless laughs and a million memories. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later!"
Khan, who was raised in Pflugerville, returned to Central Texas in August 2022 to join "We Are Austin" on CBS Austin.
She previously hosted The Hampton Roads Show for WAVY 10 in Norfolk, Virginia.
From 2018 to 2021, she served as the “Stretch Your Dollar” consumer reporter at ABC13 KTRK Houston.
Before her time in Houston, Khan worked at KENS 5 San Antonio as a traffic anchor, entertainment reporter, and lifestyle contributor.
Her broadcast career began in Victoria, at 25 News Now KAVU, where she started as a general assignment reporter before earning a promotion to morning anchor and producer.
A graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, Chelsey is known to many viewers under her pre-married name, Chelsey Hernandez.
