KPRC 2 launches new graphics package 2016

KPRC 2 has launched a new graphics package with a refresh of lower thirds, full screens, weather...etc. Here is a quick rundown of the new look.

The last time I published about KPRC getting a new graphics package was back in 2011, but I'm pretty sure they had some changes after that.

My question is, what will happen to KPRC's newscasts when it moves to its new building next year? Will they move the current set or debut a new one? Will these graphics remain? Stay tuned.

FOX 26 KRIV gets graphics refresh

New FOX 26 KRIV graphics aren't square

FOX 26 KRIV said farewell to the 4x3 aspect ratio and hello to the 16x9 world in a little graphics refresh.

The station also, for now, got rid of the crawl at the bottom of the screen that said things like myfoxhouston.com. Notable because the station's new website is fox26houston.com.

And don't get me started on the myfox[insert city].com naming, that's a whole nother post. I may not be a Harvard educated marketing genius, but why if you are late to the Internet thing in many cities (like all the way to the mid-2000s in Houston) would you brand your website something totally different from the station? Essentially making your web marketing efforts even harder?!

Hey, what do I know...I guess? That's why I'm an armchair QB blogger.

Back on topic, the new graphics can be seen below.

abc13 KTRK gets new graphics

New graphics package for KTRK abc13 in the red, white and blue theme

KTRK abc13 starts of the 2015 May sweeps period with a graphics refresh, but with the same patriotic colors as before. The station even picked up a new voice guy to go with it.

KHOU 11 updates TV news graphics package

Just in time for Hanukkah or the celebrated date of 12/12/12, KHOU 11 launched a graphics update. I first was alerted during the Noon newscast.  It's not a full face lift, maybe just some Botox or Restylane.  The logo, slogan and set are still the same, just a little update. Here is my post from the last time KHOU updated graphics.

KHOU 11's new graphics and image spot

Yesterday KHOU 11 and KIAH 39 unleashed new branded looks on Houston (KPRC 2 introduced new news graphics last week).

"KHOU Stands for Houston" is the Houston Belo stations new slogan. I have contacted KHOU to see if this replaced longtime slogan "The Spirit of Texas" after receiving that question from readers.

In the meantime, here are screen captures using my camera phone (so it is not perfect) of KHOU's new news graphics and other stuff. Scroll below for the new image promo. The look was launched on Monday's noon newscast.

KPRC 2 gets new graphics package and more

Notice something new today on KPRC 2? During its 4pm news, the station launched a new graphics package for its newscasts. Looks pretty good. Here are some images I snapped off the TV with my phone for you. I tried to get a broad section of graphical looks.

I'm told the design is a Post Newsweek creation and 100% produced within the company, mostly through the company's design hub in Miami. Scroll down to see what else made a debut on KPRC 2.

Monday also marked the premiere of a brand new promotional image campaign called “Proud 2 Cover Houston." Here are two images from separate promos featuring anchors Dominique Sachse and Bill Balleza.
