"KHOU 11 Stands For Houston" new logo and slogan

KHOU reporter Tiffany Craig snapped a photo for you and me this weekend that gives us a preview of the new KHOU 11 slogan and logo. It's called "KHOU 11 Stands For Houston" she also tweeted. Craig took a photo of the new station logo going on the side of its building.

This morning, I noticed the new logo is on

According to (yes, that is a real website), KHOU's parent company Belo applied to trademark that slogan on Thursday, October 21, 2010.

I understand the station might have more on this on its noon news today if it didn't already mention it on the morning show.

  1. Great new slogan and logo for KHOU! Much better than the old one!

  2. Lame. This logo and slogan are straight from 1985. Ital Helvetica? Really? Huge step backwards. I'd expect this in Lubbock, not a Top 10 market. Take a hint from WFAA. They know how to make things look snazzy ... and, uh, current.

  3. The new look and slogan look very "small-town"ish. Hell, they make KPRC look like a top contender now.

  4. Why does this remind me too much of the old KNWS?? How sad...

  5. I just stumbled across this and I'm SO glad I did. Thanks for all the great info!

  6. Looks like they invested a good amount of money in the new logo. Must be a product of group think! I agree, it looks like a throwback to the 80's. Maybe they are trying to appeal to I don't know who! Kinda cheesy!
