The 2013 TXU Energy Turkey Calling Contest at the Houston Zoo took place last Saturday and here were the Houston media contestants:

- Rebecca Spera (Mirror/Mirror ABC)
- Greg Onofrio (NewsFix/CW39) – will be filming
- Samica Knight (KTRK abc13)
- Kyrie O'Connor(Chronicle)
- Cowboy Dave (The Bull 100.7)
- Ted Johnson - Former New England Patriot/KILT host
The Houston Chronicle's John McClain was the emcee.
And the winner...Greg O from NewsFix! That means he gets a tree planted in his honor thanks to TXU. I already sent him a note of congratulations.
This event raises awareness and encourages registration for the TXU Energy Turkey Trot benefiting Sheltering Arms Senior Services.
