Sarah Alegre is joining FOX News as a multimedia reporter based in Houston, covering stories across the Midwest, Southwest, and beyond.
"This is truly a lifelong dream come true, and I still can’t believe it’s my reality," Alegre posted on Facebook. "I’m incredibly humbled, grateful, and eager to take on this responsibility."
Alegre comes from Fox 5 San Diego KSWB and KUSI, where she has been a weekend weather anchor and reporter since 2022.
No stranger to Texas, the Southern California native previously worked for FOX 51 KFXK / KETK Tyler.
She started with the East Texas stations in July 2020 as a morning reporter and was later promoted to KETK weekend anchor. In June 2021, Alegre was promoted to KETK Today morning anchor and Fox 51 Good Day KFXK.
In August 2021, the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California grad was promoted to the weeknight evening anchor for FOX 51.
Local Texas TV reporters have been making the jump to FOX News and Weather in the past few years. It appears former FOX News Houston MMJ Joy Addison has left. She previously worked for KFDM 6/FOX 4 KBTV Beaumont. Former ABC13 KTRK Houston reporter Brooke Taylor just joined FOX News as its Dallas-based correspondent this past summer. Other names that have moved to the FOX national news networks include Britta Merwin, Stephen Morgan, Kelly Saberi and Chelsea Torres.
I’m excited to announce that I’ve officially joined FOX News as a multimedia reporter! Based in Houston, I’ll be covering stories across the Midwest, Southwest, and beyond.
