Payton May joins FOX 4 KDFW Dallas-Fort Worth as a "Good Day" morning reporter in September 2024.
"It’s official! I’ve crossed the Red River and am reporting for FOX4 Dallas," May posted on Facebook. "I’m so incredibly grateful & excited to take on the 4th largest market in the country with the best team!! Waiting for someone to pinch me because this is definitely a dream."
May crossed the Red River to North Texas from FOX25 News KOKH Oklahoma City, where she had been the Capitol Reporter since August 2021.
Before KOKH, the Chicago native reported/anchored/produced for KOKH’s Sinclair Broadcast Group sister station WPBN 7&4 News Traverse City, Michigan.
The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University grad interned with NewsChannel 9 WSYR Syracuse, the school owned 88.3 WAER and E! News in Los Angeles.
Don't confuse her with DFW colleague Peyton Yager, especially since their names are spelled differently!
May takes over for Paige Ellenberger who left the "Good Day" reporter position to become the early show's anchor during the summer. This was the same time Hanna Batta moved the new 4pm newscast before "The Ten" debut.
