Peyton Yager joined FOX 4 KDFW on March 22, 2021 as a nightside reporter from KFOR Oklahoma City.
"I’m ready to work for the people of North Texas and the powerhouse that is FOX 4," Yager said on her KDFW bio. "I’m blessed to be back in my home state."
The native Texan is from Friendswood, right outside of Houston.
While at KFOR in July 2020, Yager tested positive for COVID-19. The athlete, who is a strenuous runner, found it hard to breath.
“On day two, I was waking up and feeling like my chest was compressed and there was this huge rock on my chest,” Yager told her station at the time.
After recovering, Yager donated plasma to help those still fighting the virus.
Prior to KFOR Oklahoma, Yager also worked as an MMJ/Reporter for KNWA/KFTA-Fayetteville, AR.
The University of Texas at Austin grad worked as a political intern with Spectrum News Austin and KXAN Austin.
Prior to that, Yager shadowed reporters at KVUE Austin.
She also had a Governor Fellowship Program with Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s Press Office.
