Jacob Rascon is recovering from surgery, but unlike the other Houston anchors I've recently blogged about, the abc13 KTRK morning anchor is not suffering from a leg injury.
Here is what Rascon posted on Facebook:
"I had a severely 'deviated septum.' Basically, the bone and cartilage separating my nostrils — my septum — was very crooked.
You could hardly tell, if at all, from the outside. But for as long as I can remember I’ve have had trouble breathing through my nose. Both nostrils. And I get way too many sinus infections.
The Septoplasty should help correct this. It is a minor surgery. One of the most common performed by ENT doctors.
A few family members have had it. It is not cosmetic.
Thank you Doctor Jensen! I should be back at work middle of next week."
His former abc13 anchor father, Art Rascon, recently had his own medical issue.
Just this week, KPRC 2 anchor Lisa Hernandez announced a surgery leave due to a leg issue.
Hernandez follows injuries by abc13 reporter Miya Shay and KPRC anchor Daniella Guzman.
Jacob joined abc13 in 2021.
