Lisa Hernandez announced in December 2023 that she would be off the KPRC 2 afternoon anchor desk after surgery for meniscus root repair.
UPDATE: She returned in February 2024.
"I will be home recovering through the New Year and am grateful to my family (& my work family!) for helping me along, as I’ve been basically useless to everyone.
By the way—this happened during a quick run as I crossed the street and landed weird off the curb.
Medial meniscus was in trouble & I ignored the pain for a good month, convinced myself it was nothing and just made it worse.
Funny how I would absolutely encourage a friend to go the doctor if they were limping for weeks, yet when it comes to taking my own advice — I’m the most stubborn mule on the planet! Lesson learned. I think."
Hernandez joins abc13 KTRK reporter Miya Shay and KPRC anchor colleague Daniella Guzman in a bad time for 2023 leg injuries.
