This, after I blogged in another post, that Jacob's father Art Rascon is leaving abc13 KTRK.
New hire Sabirah Rayford took Rascon's spot at the KPRC 2 weekend morning desk next to Sofia Ojeda and Khambrel Marshall.
As I've said before, I've been blogging about Jacob Rascon from the beginning of his career at KFOX 14 El Paso. Art, who was born in El Paso, also worked in The Sun City for KVIA.
The younger Rascon jumped from El Paso to KNBC 4 Los Angeles.
Being a Rascon, it was only a matter of time before he was noticed by the network, and Jacob joined NBC News as a network correspondent.
Wanting to be home near family surely came into consideration when Rascon joined KPRC 2 in 2017 to be a weekend morning anchor and reporter where he remained until this September 2021.
Viewers noticed Rascon was not on the KPRC 2 anchor desk in the last months of his contract. Now you might know why.
Based on usual television station non-compete clauses in contracts, we will not see Jacob on the air until 2022.
