Ruben Galvan quietly left KHOU 11 in the last month or so.

Galvan was not on air in the last year doing his usual AM live shots due to the pandemic. During lockdown, you would see him performing other duties like announcing birthdays and fill-in traffic.
Just last week, the former KHOU 11 "HTownRush" morning feature reporter announced on Facebook that he is producing the 2021 Chick-fil-A Military Appreciation Night aboard the USS Midway Museum in San Diego, CA.
Galvan returned to Houston TV at KHOU 11 in 2019. The station where he had interned as a UH student. Out of the television news business at the time, he was working as the Chief Storyteller at Scientist.com.
Before that, Galvan worked for KPRC 2's morning show as a feature reporter joining in 2013 and leaving in 2016.
The Spring Branch Northbrook High School and the University of Houston grad also worked for:
- XETV San Diego 6 News (CW affiliate)
- KXXV Waco/Temple/Killeen
- KTVB 7 Boise, Idaho
Since this is a Houston media blog, I leave you with the above embedded video from when Galvan was still at channel 2 and featuring then Houston radio station Hot 95.7 KKHH. You will know that Hot 95.7 morning host Sarah Pepper is now with Jessie Watt on Mix 96.5 KHMX's Morning Mix.
