Blake Mathews announced in March 2022 that his time is up at CBS 11 KTVT in Dallas - Fort Worth. He said he was hired as a fill-in for six months while meteorologists were away on maternity leave, and the end of his time is April 1st. He adds that he does not know where he will work next at this point.

Blake Mathews announced he returning to Texas, this time at CBS 11 KTVT DFW.

Here is what Mathews tweeted.
"I’m moving to Dallas-Fort Worth to work along side the team of meteorologists at @CBSDFW! My first day is Monday, October 18th! I go from Channel 11 in Houston to 11 in DFW. I’m excited to begin a new chapter next to @ScottPadgettCBS."
Mathews left the KHOU 11 Houston weather department back in June 2021. At the time, the Houston raised meteorologist posted on Facebook that he would be moving to Florida.
He had been with the TEGNA station since returning to Houston in 2016.
Mathews previously worked for:
- WJXT Jacksonville, Florida as a meteorologist/weather producer
- KPRC 2 assignments editor
- KBTX 3 Bryan/College Station morning and weekend meteorologist.
Tim Pandajis joined KHOU 11 from WVEC Norfolk, VA after Mathews left the TEGNA owned station.
