After the departure of Fox 26 KRIV morning and mid-day meteorologist Kristi Powers last June, the Fox owned Houston station has hired Caitilin Espinosa (recently of KIII in Corpus Christi) as her replacement.
Espinosa started Sunday morning, but things will be a little different this time.
When I posted about the hiring of Espinosa, I got lots of questions about which shift she'll be working. The big difference for Espinosa, now there is a Fox 26 weekend morning show since Powers left.
I did a little digging and found out Espinosa will be doing the 7am, 8am and 9am weather and noon news on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (meteorologist Mike Iscovitz handles the earlier shows all week). She'll be off at the end of the week and will return to do the three hour morning newscast on the weekends.
That means current weekend morning and night meteorologist John Dawson will return to doing just the weekend night shift at 5pm and 9pm. I'm told that Dawson will also produce the weekday morning weather and occasionally appear on air there too.
