Candace Burns has only been a 4 p.m. anchor at KPRC 2 Houston since 2023, but she has clearly made a good impression.
It seems Burns has not been on air in a while, and her loyal viewers are noticing.
That's why they are asking me almost daily.
I asked KPRC about her status but did not hear back.
So this will be one of my "Where is?" posts, this time featuring Candace Burns.
Burns joined KPRC in 2023 from WTVR CBS 6 Richmond, Virginia, where she had been an evening anchor since 2014. She was named Lisa Hernandez's 4 p.m. newscast co-anchor a month later.
Just last month, Burns won her first Lone Star EMMY for a documentary about Fleming Middle School in Fifth Ward. In it, she documented the impact of the first year of the HISD state takeover.
Now, a Channel 13 reporter will be out for a spell, but we know the reason.
