Caroline Collins is known for her large social media presence, but the FOX 26 Houston KRIV evening anchor is also lesser known for reality television with "Farm Queens."
Yes, a 20-year-old Collins was a contestant fresh off being the first runner-up in the Miss Pennsylvania pageant when she was asked to audition for and eventually join the reality show's cast.
Debuting September 14, 2024, on the Great American Country channel, Collins, along with other Miss Pennsylvania contestants, was sent to Chet Welch's farm to learn poise and grace through some honest-to-goodness country work in what Channel Guide Magazine called "tiaras-meets-tractors beauty-queen boot camp."
It just so happens that Welch, who was also a 2008 contestant on CBS' "Survivor: Micronesia," is also a Pennsylvania-based beauty pageant director/coach.
TV Guide describes episode 1, titled "Move Your Ass," as "after an unconventional training exercise involving two stubborn donkeys, the girls put on a fashion show that's the talk of the town."
Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, there is no way to watch the reality show anymore outside of the above trailer.
However, for Collins, lessons learned have carried on to her current FOX 26 era.
In episode 3, "Eight Maids-A-Milking," the description "the beauty queens milk cows" must have helped Collins in the 2023 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo hosted its annual Celebrity Goat Milking Contest.
“One time in college, I was on a reality show called Farm Queens and I lost a cow milking contest," Collins said in an HLSR press release. "So, I am here to redeem myself, but I don’t have super high expectations for my performance."
I do not know where Collins placed in the contest, but we know from the release that George Lindsey, with 100.3 "The Bull," took the top spot.
Collins joined FOX 26 in early 2023.
