Marvin Hurst is leaving his KENS 5 San Antonio morning anchor/reporter to be with his wife in Dallas.
UPDATE FEBRUARY 2024
Marvin Hurst joins CBS News Texas
Here is a portion of what Hurst posted on Facebook:
"I am going into my 19th year at KENS 5. It will be my shortest. My anniversary date is December 27th. Contractually, I will come to the end of the road on December 31st.
I told my bosses I would exit about seven or eight months ago. They have been more than gracious in my departure. That's appreciated because this is an emotionally challenging separation for me. I love San Antonio! And I will confess my 19-year love affair with her and the people who live here forever.
My wife and I have awaited the Lord's promised process for nearly a year in different cities. Yes, we saw each other and spent time together. Now, it's time for one roof."
Hurst married his wife Felicia in August 2022.
Through his KENS career, Hurst produced “Neighborhood Eats” and “Together We Rise” in addition to his regular reporting duties.
Hurst joined KENS 5 in December 2004 as a morning reporter. In May 2022, he started anchoring the 4:30am newscast.
