Allison Gargaro, the FOX 35 Orlando WOFL morning meteorologist/traffic anchor, is joining FOX 26 Houston KRIV as a weekend morning meteorologist.
"I am very excited to join the team of talented meteorologists and journalists at FOX 26," Gargaro told mikemcguff.com. "Coming from Orlando, I am no stranger to the tropics. Over the last two years I have covered hurricanes Ian, Nicole and Idalia. My husband grew up in Houston and we are looking forward to being close to family and friends."
"Allison’s significant experience forecasting severe and tropical weather makes her a natural choice to join Houston’s Gulf Coast Weather Authority," Vice President of Content Creation and Distribution Aaron Fernandez-Wische added. "She brings energy, authenticity and deep knowledge of the dynamics that shape Houston’s unpredictable weather."
Gargaro takes over the weather position left open when Lena Arango left channel 26.
Gargaro joined FOX 35 Orlando in May 2020, first as a weekend meteorologist, and then moved to "Good Day Orlando," where she also served as a traffic anchor.
The Arizona State University - Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication graduate started her professional TV career with KERO 23 in Bakersfield, California, as a multimedia journalist in 2017, quickly advancing to evening meteorologist. From there, she obtained certification from Mississippi State University's Broadcast Meteorology Program. She also hosted the cooking show 'Simply Sweet Allison.'
She interned with CBS This Morning, Gannett and what was then Clear Channel.
