Jose Griñan returned to his FOX 26 Houston KRIV morning anchor role on January 30, 2023 after being off the air since late 2022.

José Griñan to retire from FOX 26 Houston
"It's really exciting to be back after being off for such a long time, but when the doctors say you have to rest, you have to rest and you have to obey the doctors orders," Griñan said on-air.
Griñan's co-anchor Melissa Wilson added that the newsroom had not been the same without him.
Last summer, channel 26 celebrated Griñan's 70th birthday on 'Houston's Morning News.'
That's not his only big milestone, Griñan is also celebrating 30 years with KRIV!
For those that will email me about this, now we are only watching for Denise Middleton to return to FOX 26 now that Griñan and Chauncy Glover have hit the Houston TV airwaves again.
