Rudy Mireles promoted to KRGV evening anchor

Rudy Mireles took over for the retired KRGV 5 anchor, Oscar Adame, in May 2022.

UPDATE OCTOBER 2024
Rudy Mireles leaves KRGV 5

Here is what Mireless posted on Facebook:

"It’s my honor to announce that I have accepted the position that Oscar leaves after 23 years.

While no one can ever replace my predecessor, I can promise you that I will do my best to live up to the responsibility that comes with this chair.

I am truly blessed and humbled by the support from YOU our viewers the last couple of years. I hope that I continue to earn that support because above all else that’s what matters the most to me. It’s you that makes our continued success a reality. And I know we all will work hard to maintain that because WE report to YOU."

Mireless joined KRGV in March 2020 as a reporter.

He previously worked for News Radio 1370 WSPD Toledo, Ohio as a morning news anchor.

Before that, Mireless served eight years in the Air Force and two years in the Air National Guard. He had deployments to the Middle East, Germany and aboard the NSF Diego Garcia. He also ensured the combat readiness of F-16 fighter jets with the 113th Wing at Joint Base Andrews, MD.
