Houston author and 104.1 KRBE on-air personality Freddy Cruz is launching his first novel titled When America Fell Silent on August 20, 2019. The novel, a fictional dystopian political thriller, is about retired Navy SEAL Hayden Randall who will do anything to defend his country and restore the nation’s freedom.
Randall’s ex-girlfriend and current First Daughter Elizabeth stages a coup and takes control of the U.S. government after her presidential parents are assassinated. When she repeals the First Amendment and begins a campaign of public executions, Randall vows to put a stop to the death and destruction. Demonstrating that democracy is never bulletproof, the novel leads readers through a dark glimpse of possible futures to discover if a determined hero can lead the resistance and take down America’s first dictator before the country falls.
"What started as a writing challenge issued by my two daughters has turned into something I never could have imagined creating – a finished novel,” said Cruz. “From beginning to end, the process of crafting this story was both a personal journey and amazing experience, and I hope it takes readers on a dystopian joyride into a future I hope will never be America.”
