Effective August 21st, FOX 26 will debut “THE News Edge at 10 p.m.,” announced station Vice President and News Director, Susan Schiller. This Monday-Friday half-hour newscast will follow the station’s current late newscast, “Fox 26 News at 9” and lead into “Fox 26 News Isiah Factor: Uncensored,” which will return weeknights at 10:30 p.m. With this expansion, the station will produce 57.5 hours of local news programming each week, more local news than any other station in the market.

In making the announcement, Schiller added, “This additional half hour of news allows us bring viewers’ perspectives into the issues affecting and taking place in our city and gives us an opportunity to expand our commitment to local news programming.”

Anchored by Kaitlin Monte, “THE News Edge at 10 p.m.” will offer viewers a fast-paced format, which will allow the audience to engage with FOX 26 on trending news and topics relevant to them via the station’s various social media channels.

Kaitlin Monte will also continue to anchor the 5 and 9 p.m. news alongside Jonathan Martin.

Monte added, "I love the people of Houston and am thrilled to be tasked with bringing to life the FOX 26 News team's vision for this new newscast.”

“Fox 26 News Isiah Factor: Uncensored” will follow “THE News Edge at 10 p.m.” as a weeknight half-hour broadcast. Host Isiah Carey will be joined by one of Houston’s most popular DJ’s each night, including DJ SupaStar, DJ Yon Don, and the Houston Rockets’ DJ T. Gray. “It’s a Damn Shame,” “Is This America?” and “Crazy Azz Criminals” will return as featured segments.

In addition, “What’s Your Point” hosted by FOX 26 veteran Political Reporter, Greg Groogan, will stay in its currently timeslot this Fall on Sunday mornings at 7 a.m.

This no holds barred discussion examines the political and social issues of the day across every level, from the nation’s Capital, to the Texas state capital, to Houston’s City Hall. Among the panelists are: legendary investigative reporter and media consultant, Wayne Dolcefino, “Sunday Morning Live” Host on Majic 102.1 and owner of Houston’s famous The Breakfast Klub, Marcus Davis, Breitbart Texas Associate Editor, Bob Price, commentator and attorney, Nyanza Moore, Republican strategist Jessica Colon and well-known author and educator, Tony Diaz.
