Staffers at Houston TV stations will tell you once this market went to Nielsen's Local People Meter, the stations do not practice the November, February and May sweeps periods anymore. I'm not always sure I buy that considering "shocking" promos "you won't believe" still seem to ramp up during those times.
As a big fan of the Houston media, I want to offer the TV stations some last minute sweeps ideas. Sometimes those last days of the month get harder and harder to fill with compelling content as the T-Day's turkey calls become louder and louder. I'm giving you some "shocking" ideas...its up to reporter/producer types to make them into stories "you won't believe."
First, get the cameras rolling and the promo producers ready with some "titillating" stock footage, because the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality is having its annual meeting this year in Houston. Just in time for sweeps:

Talk about a multi-part stand up. Act fast, If you assign a reporter right now, maybe you can get a promo on before the folks across the street!
