San Antonio television is getting a new morning newscast on KCWX2, featuring anchor Atiana San Miguel, starting March 31, 2025.
"River City News" will air weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. KCWX2 promises the new newscasts will be "San Antonio news reimagined," bringing the latest in community news, weather updates, sports highlights, and in-depth coverage.
The new San Antonio AM newscasts will replace "Pawn Stars" and "The Liquidator" in the 7:00 a.m. hour and "We the People with Judge Lauren Lake" and "Justice for All with Judge Cristina Perez" in the 11:00 a.m. hour.
A MyNetwork TV affiliate, KCWX2, is a Corridor Television-owned station that does not currently air newscasts.
San Miguel was hired in January 2025 by FOX 7 Austin KTBC to serve as the morning traffic anchor for "Good Day Austin," so she is likely anchoring the new SA newscast remotely from Central Texas.
She arrived in Austin from KAMC Lubbock, where she had been since 2023.
Houstonians may recognize the Texas Tech University and Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) graduate from her numerous commercials, print ads, and billboards throughout her hometown and beyond, which she has appeared in since she was 7 years old. In 2016, San Miguel even appeared in a Super Bowl commercial.
In Austin, she succeeded Jane Lonsdale, who departed FOX 7 Austin in October 2024.
