Corey Foley splits with The New Bull @ 100.3 KILT morning partner Greg Thunder, Cowboy Dave moves to nights

A big shakeup over at The New Bull @ 100.3 KILT. Corey Foley, who replaced the Hudson and Harrigan institution at the CBS owned station, is out.

"Houston is amazing as are the fabulous folks that live here," Foley told mikemcguff.com. "I feel blessed to have had this awesome opportunity and look forward to my next adventure. However, the Lone Star State will always hold a special place in my heart. Thanks for all of the love & support."

Her morning show partner Greg Thunder remains as the solo host. Other morning host, Cowboy Dave, moves to the 7pm to midnight slot. That puts night guy Zakk United in the afternoon slot vacated by Keola Lui-Kwan.

KILT's listeners think this is bull and are taking to the station's Facebook page in protest. The station responded to a commenter with the following:

Greg is still here in the mornings, Cowboy Dave got promoted and is now on from 7-Midnight every night with The Bull After Dark and Corey is no longer with the station and we wish her the best.

Foley arrived at KILT with Thunder in November 2010.

Before that Foley handled morning drive at 95.7 KBWF (The Wolf) San Francisco. She was a veteran of The Dave Ryan Show at 101.3 KDWB Minneapolis, Kiss 105.3 in Gainesville and Wild 94.1 in Tampa. She is a gradate of the University of Florida.

  1. Foley was really good. She deserves to be on a better station that that train wreck.

  2. She'll be sorely missed.

  3. Before they took it down, the other chick that they keep for some reason I will never be able to understand, posted a blog entry that was basically telling people that they need to listen if they don't want the other dj's fired. I felt like she was blaming the listeners instead of herself and the others. If you want people to listen then you have to give them something to listen to. If you are boring, have a voice that is annoying, say mean things about people, or constantly talk about yourself, on the air and in a blog, then they won't listen to you. It's very simple!

  4. Completely agree with the post above.
I'll miss Corey, she was in the top three of females in Houston radio. It would be great if she can find another gig in Houston.

    1. IMO, she is average, but I don't feel that she should have been blamed for their horrible ratings. It's a team effort. I will not be surprised if they hire a female who puts a lot of effort in her appearance and is younger.

    2. It's about time! So glad for the change up and glad she is gone. Personally did not enjoy listening to her or Intern Bobbie. I want to listen to music, not just a lot of chatter about nothing. I did not care about Bobbie's drinking & personal life or Corey's tattoos, etc. Just want to hear music during my drive. Kept hoping to turn on the radio & they would be gone.

    3. unfortunately at that time of the mornings the stations with the highest ratings have a morning show. And a lot of people want to hear some morning talk....it works when its done right. Unfortunately they couldn't keep up with the compettions morning shows. Best of luck to all of them. I did enjoy the show.

  5. I wish they would have got rid of Erin Austin instead of Corey

  6. I agree!! Someone must have the hots for her, because they seem to get rid of everyone but her!

  7. I just hope they never bring Rowdy Yates back. He had a really big ego for someone that really wasn't that great. Too much "announcer" voice. Not very natural sounding and was really boring!- Janice D.

  8. Personally I think Corey was the only one of the 3 worth listening to. (Hopefully Intern Bobby got kicked to the curb as well). Cowboy Dave is just a country idiot & there is NO WAY Greg can keep anyone interested in listening on his own. I have given it 4 days (3 too long) and I will be listening to another radio station starting tomorrow.

Sorry Cat.........you made your move at the wrong time I guess.

    1. On Allaccess, she made it sound like she and Greg are looking for a morning show opportunity. That's how I'm reading her latest comments. Maybe he is staying until they find another morning show, or until the morning show gets to town? It's confusing!

    2. I am done with the station as well. Too many changes all the time. I like Greg, but the show is not the same. It is not a morning show anymore.

      Delete
    3. I agree with the above statement. The Bull morning show will not be the same without Corey and Cowboy Dave now it's just boring. Listening to another station.

    4. The competition 93 Q is better since Corey and Dave left :((

  9. I hate to see Corey go and I think a huge mistake has been made. I am proud of Dave getting his own show. Already I find myself listening to another station.

  10. Wth?!? Guess I'll listen to the other "New" station. Screw the Bull or Bs.

  11. I didn't like Foley at all (whiney and pessamistic) but it's worse with just Thunder (boring). I like The Bull, but I think they're going to have to keep changing to find a completely new morning show.

    1. I was shocked when I tuned in this week for the first time in a long time, Finally, there is now country music in the morning drive in. No more boring talks like the other "New" station. I'll enjoy it while it last.

    2. Foley was the show I loved her on here.

  12. Absolutely loved Corey! They made me laugh in the morning. Now there is nothing to laugh at for my long commute. Tried the other country station for a day and didn't like them at all. They knock the Bull constantly by saying KILT plays to many commercials. Hell, each time they say that it's no different than a commercial. I would give anything to have Corey back. I do not know what polling company they used to determine their ratings but they should have asked the listeners! I guess, I will go back to XM/Sirus. This move SUCKS. I called the station and the station manager is: Sarah Frazier and her email is: sfrazier@cbs.com if you want send your complaints to her. I plan on it!

    1. I have Sirius & the only time I listen to Houston radio was the am commute, but they have now lost me to Sirius 24/7. Sorry guys you should have left well enough alone.

    2. I totally agree. So sad they changed up the show because Greg, Corey and Cowboy Dave had a great mix of personalities and made the show fun to listen to in the mornings. The first week Greg sounded so sad and bored it was hard to listen to. Now it is just the same as the other stations. Amazing that these stations mess up a good thing.

  13. I can't believe they've done this! The only show in the morning that was "real". Something to relate to. Cory was the lead of that show for sure!! She's the one that kept it going. Having only Greg is a mistake!! I changed stations this morning...sad.

  14. I always felt Corey and Intern Bobbie were judgemental and rude to people that called in. Made fun and laughed at them. I quit listening a few weeks ago because of that, but was shocked when I turned the radio on and heard only Greg.

    1. The whole venue lacked class from the beginning. Intern Bobbie was the worst; airing her drinking habits, her hangovers, and her 'relationships.' It was a negative, juvenile format with no substance.

      Delete
  15. I guess I will be listening to the Q I cant stand Erica Rico but its not the same without Corey Foley.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I can't stand Erica Rico either, Her voice is so juvenile sounding and whiney. She may be good if you can stand to listen to her long enough. I never have. The Q plays much better music and 100.3 should steal their programmer, but I can't stand listening to the Q whine about 100.3. Maybe I'll just go to the Legends station.

    2. I have to agree.

  16. Corey Foley is a bitter bitter woman. How anyone could find her sour act appealing is beyond comprehension. Thunder sounds like he needs to hit the coffee a few more times each hour. Boring and half asleep. Intern Bobby is an idiot. Why she was ever on a major market radio station... or wait... She was Foley's friend. Erin has proven herself to be to most consistent. Zac United sounds like Pee Wee Herman and Cowboy Daveis full of himself.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Erin has proven herself the be the most consistent? Please explain. When she was on the morning show all she did was talk about herself. She's not original, or creative. Her phones are boring. She says horrible things on her blog. . Something is not right. It's obvious that you are either her friend, or some unattractive dude that wants to sleep with her, or Erin herself.

  18. I think Corey blew it when she said that about her husband texting her asking if she had seen her "crazy" for the day and sent the picture of the guy carrying the cross. It was the week of Easter and I am sure that didn't go well with most listeners. I was shocked. I would not have quit listening because of that but it was insenitive.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I couldn't stand her but I gave them two weeks then quit listening entirely. They screwed up when they fired Hudson and Harrigan. Pleasantly surprised when I tuned in today on a whim and no longer heard her obnoxious put downs.

    ReplyDelete
  20. BRING BACK HUDSON AND HARRIGAN...PLEASE.

    ReplyDelete
  21. TO much change in such a short period of time will be listening to another station

    ReplyDelete
  22. The guy they have on weekends is boring too. I don't think they understand what constitutes creativity and a great personality.

    ReplyDelete
  23. There is no other morning radio show with the chemistry of Foley and Thunder. They are real and entertaining and without them, I will be looking for something else to listen to in the morning. Too bad

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think the chemistry between Foley and Thunder with Cowboy Davy was so entertaining. I couldn't wait to get in my car in the mornings. I don't know why she was fired, and Dave was moved but it was a BIG mistake. I'll be listing to another station!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I too have switched, the show is not the same.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The morning show hasn't been at all the same since Hudson & Harrigan!!! The mornings are hard enough without having to listen to the same songs over and over and they aren't good songs or someone constantly talking about stupid stuff!!! The traffic report is better than any of the shows now!! Thank-God for the cd player and the Legends. The ratings aren't the only thing that decides if these shows are good or not, programming has a lot to do with it too. I don't care how many times y'all say it KILT was better and now all we have is Bull!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I usually don't listen to country, but did yesterday to see what all of you were talking about. Listened to the girl during the day. Didn't think there was anything special about her. To me, she sounded like every other boring chick on the air. Was the woman that got let go, better than her?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I quit listening a while ago because I could not stand Corey. If she did not lilke somebody she made sure everybody knew it. I personally don't care who you like or don't like, I just don't want to hear the continous insults towards people. It gets very old.

I am sorry for the loss of the people who enjoyed listening to her, but now I will consider tuning back in since she is gone.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I really do not like the format of the new morning show. It is so boring. I am now flipping channels trying to find something entertaining. Sadly, The New Bull is not it. Bring back Corey and Cowboy Dave to the morning.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Could not believe they got rid of Hudson & Harrigan and hired Corey Foley. She was not country - she hated country music. Quit listening to the show and switched to 93Q. Better playlist and no Corey Foley.

    ReplyDelete
  31. If I have to see one more post about Erin's dating life and how "her job" and the fact she thinks she is a celebrity affects it, I'm going to poke my eyes out!! The PD really thinks in order to bring in ratings his self-absorbed DJ's need to talk about themselves even more...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I first started listening this past Sunday which was Father's Day. Subway was tuned into the station when I went to eat. They were JAMMING and I was hooked. As long as the DJ is playing the right flow of music I don't care who it is. Stay new! Keep up the AWESOME cowboy flow!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I MISS COREY! The show is so boring now that I tune in elsewhere. Bobbie needed to go but definitely not Corey. What's up with keeping Erin and not Corey. Owners, what were you thinking? The Bull was my primary morning show and I'm very dissapointed in the change. Someone let me know where Corey landed.
