I had just tweeted this afternoon that KPRC 2 told me it took first place in the key demo for the morning news during the recently wrapped November 2013 sweeps period.

Now David Barron has posted some ratings data:

"Channel 2 edged Channel 13 for first place among local newscasts at 5:30 and 6 a.m. and narrowly trailed Channel 13 at 4 p.m. among adults 25-54 for the November sweeps period that ended Wednesday."

I cannot recall a time when KPRC has won mornings. If I remember correctly, when Deborah Duncan anchored KHOU mornings, the Belo station challenged KTRK in the morning race.

KTRK announced changes to its morning show at the start of the recent sweeps period. There could be more changes to come after KPRC's win.

  3. Jennifer Reyna has kept Channel 2 mornings relevant all this time, with help from Yanez. Good that Rachel McNeil has been added,She is one off the best.
"Come On Back" is pure fun so yes, the show is a winner.
    Mean-spiritedness no longer prevails.

  4. Rachel is 1,000 times better than Zavala or Freeman, and during sweeps month she was not shy to wear the revealing wardrobe. Good for her. It shows that despite Conflenti's jerk ego and Reyna's utter incompetence, that a skilled and attractive anchor and a reliable weatherman can carry a station.
