Brittany Ford is leaving her Atlanta News First reporter role and the TV industry for a return to Houston with a new career:
"After 10 years + in the TV News industry I’ve made the bold and courageous decision to step away and take on a new challenge.
This week will be my last reporting at Atlanta News First.
First and foremost, thank you Atlanta. I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many great people and have produced meaningful/impactful work throughout my two years. I’m truly grateful for this journey and the person I’ve become as a result of it.
Anyone who knows me, knows becoming a TV News Reporter was my dream. I started my career in Fargo, North Dakota leaving family, friends and the familiar behind. I’ve accomplished so many great things over this decade - and reached my goals going on to report in two top ten markets.
With that said, the news industry has drastically changed over those years. The ongoing sacrifices of a 24/7 news cycle no longer align with what I want out of life.
I thank god for the wisdom of knowing “when to hang on tight, and when to let go”
NOW - THE GOOD NEWS: I have a new and exciting opportunity that is bringing me back to Houston, Texas. H-town ya girl is coming back!
This will bring me back with family and closer to my family in California. All things that really matter to me. "
Ford left KHOU 11 in Houston to join Atlanta News First, WANF, as a reporter in May 2023.
She had been with Channel 11 since May 2021.

- freelance reporter-MMJ for NBC 7 San Diego
- reporter for WLUK 11 Green Bay, Wisconsin
- MMJ KVRR Fargo, North Dakota
