Greg Bostwick announces melanoma diagnosis

KFDM 6 Beaumont Chief Meteorologist Greg Bostwick will undergo surgery in May 2025 to remove a melanoma that was discovered on the upper right portion of his arm, just below the wrist.

Since his diagnosis, Bostwick has made several trips to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for evaluations.

"The good news is that it's very treatable," Bostwick explained during a recent 10pm newscast. "It's at a stage I'll have surgery done some time in May. It seems to be very thin. The prognosis is very good. It's just a reminder to go to the doctor. Men, I think we're worse about that. I know I am. Just have some things looked at that could really help you out."

Bostwick earned his degree in Meteorology from Texas A&M University in 1979 and joined KFDM News shortly after graduation that same year.

He has spent his entire professional career at KFDM, a rare achievement in the broadcasting industry.

In addition to delivering the evening weather forecasts on KFDM, Bostwick provides weekday morning weather updates on NewsTalk 560 KLVI.
