Sydney Dishon is leaving KCEN 6 Waco-Temple-Killeen for First Coast News WTLV-WJXX Jacksonville, Florida, to be a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) starting in January 2025.
Here is what Dishon posted on Instagram:
"Central Texas, thank you for two years of memories.
You invited me into your homes and trusted me with your stories as a young journalist fresh out of college, and for that, I’m forever grateful.
Y’all became my second family and serving such a special community has been a privilege. I’ll always remember Central Texas as a place that made my dreams come true. I can’t thank everyone enough for believing in me.
Texas will always be home. This isn’t goodbye, it’s just a see ya later. Florida, here I come."
Dishon joined KCEN as a multi-skilled journalist in January 2023.
She started with channel 6 as a University of North Texas Mayborn School of Journalism Summa Cum Laude grad who interned with CBS Austin KEYE.
During college, this Houston-area native honed his skills as an MMJ for the student-run North Texas Television station.
