Hannah Tiede announced that she is leaving her evening reporter and multimedia journalist role with KENS 5 San Antonio.
Here is what Tiede posted on social media:
"It's going to be a bittersweet week. I am stepping away from TV news after nearly a decade in the business. This job has taken me across North America, and I'm so grateful and humbled by the opportunities I've been given.
I'm forever thankful to the communities that welcomed me, the people who trusted me to share their stories, and the life lessons that shaped me.
This career brought me to my husband, enriched my life with the wonderful friends I met along the way, and took me on so many adventures.
From Alberta, to British Columbia, to Minnesota, to Arizona, and now Texas ...THANK YOU!!!"
She followed up that announcement by saying she has been "promoted to my dream job: motherhood!"
Tiede joined KENS 5 in October 2022 from KOLD News 13 Tucson, Arizona where she has been since 2019.
Before Arizona, the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology worked up north:
- Reporter/Weekend Anchor KAAL-TV ABC 6 News Rochester, Minnesota
- Reporter, Weather & News Anchor CKPG Prince George, British Columbia Canada
- Weekday Reporter/Weekend Anchor Newcap Television Lloydminster, Alberta Canada
As Tiede departs KENS 5, meteorologist Roxy Van Ruiten recently joined the San Antonio station.
