Usually, I am more of a TV blog that also covers radio, but in December 2024, it might be swapped a little.
Just this week, we saw two Houston morning radio shows leave the FM dial:
- Dean and Rog exit The Eagle 106.9/107.5
- 100.3 The Bull 'Morning Bullpen' signs off
Not only that, but we see another morning radio personality, Tessa Barrera, leave her job to pursue her secondary TV career full-time.
We also learned this month that Shara Fryer was officially released from the 740 KTRH morning news.
Since I have many Dallas—Fort Worth readers, I don't want to forget that Steve Lamb and Nicole Osei are both gone from the 820 WBAP morning show.
Finally, there is some good news to report. Michael Garfield, the "High Tech Texan," is now syndicated around major Texas radio stations, with fill-in opportunities on both national radio and KHOU 11's "Great Day Houston."
Back in DFW, Sybil Summers joined the 570 KLIF morning show.
The The Vibe is now on 88.7 KUHF HD3.
And just Friday came the launch of a new Houston radio station, La Ley 92.1 FM.
Let's hope for a more stable 2025, but let's face it, neither TV nor radio will be in any calmer waters in the new year.
