Pete Sousa leaves KWTX 10 Waco

Pete Sousa is leaving his morning anchor position with KWTX 10 Waco-Temple-Killeen in July 2024 to focus on his side gig, calling college games for ESPN.

Taking Sousa's place is new hire Clayton Anderson, who arrives from KTIV 4 Sioux City, Iowa.

Sousa, who talked about his departure with John Morris on ESPN Central Texas KRZI, said he will be doing ESPN broadcast play-by-play, mostly for Big 12 basketball, but some other sports as well:

"The expansion of the Big 12 doesn't hurt a guy like me. And that's...I've really been blessed.

You know, I tell people, you know, I'm from Philadelphia. Initially, I thought Waco was just going to kind of be, like, a stop for me, and it became my home. And it literally is a place where, you know, I call home now, uh, I have a girlfriend who lives not too far away in Flower Mound. We've been together for a while. So that that works out."

Sousa, who says he will stay in Waco, will continue his two podcasts with the Rogue Media Network.
