"Nearly 7 years covering sports in a city that holds such a special place in my heart. I'm one lucky dude, Baker posted on X. "It's time for a new challenge outside the industry, and I'm excited to share more about that soon."
In his on-air tribute (see below), sports director Bob Ballou noted Barker was the longest serving weekend sports anchor in KEYE history.
Barker joined CBS Austin in October 2017 from FOX 40 News WLBT Jackson, Mississippi where he was a sports anchor/reporter.
The University of Texas at Austin grad interned with Spectrum News Austin and worked for the school's KVRX and TSTV.
✌️ Today is my last day at @cbsaustin. Nearly 7 years covering sports in a city that holds such a special place in my heart. I'm one lucky dude.
